Q) What is the monthly production estimate? There are no guarantees, as most antimony reserves are difficult to prove up due to its erratic nature of pocketing and pinching out. Production depends on the equipment used, weather conditions, management, labor force, etc...
Q) Is Honduras a safe and stable country to operate a business in? A) Yes. There is government corruption but usually it is during the permitting process. We have operated off and on this mine since 1965 without incident. But as anywhere precautions always should be taken. There are many other international companies that operate in Honduras such as Breakwater Resources a large nearby zinc mine.
Q) Does this mine produce anything other than antimony? A) No just antimony oxide (yellow) with some sulfides (black). The higher grade oxides average 40% with little or no selenium, mercury or arsenic.
Q) Is the mine operating right now? A) Yes on a small scale.
Q) Where is the El Caliche mine located? A) About 50 Kilometers South of the Mochito mine owned by Breakwater Resources in the Western part of Honduras, State of Santa Barbara.
Q) Can you export your antimony ore out of Honduras? A) Yes, in March of 2009 we made a single shipment to Mexico. All of our permits are in order. We have been exporting ore from this mine off and on since 1968.
Q) What kind of condition are the roads leading to the mine? A) Excellent considering the area. 20 ton trucks can easily access the mine.
Q) Who is the General Manager of Invermin Mining Co.? A) Tom Cross from Houston, Texas USA. This mine has been in the family since 1968.
Q) How are the politics/relationships with the locals? A) EXCELLENT! This mine has been in the Cross family since 1968 and we have always treated the locals with complete respect. The locals have complete admiration for us and are anxious for mining to resume on a larger scale.
Q) What is the port of export? A) Puerto Cortes is located on the North coast and about a 4 hour drive from the mine or 1 hour from San Pedro Sula.
